I write about how software actually works, for people who were never given a fair chance to find out.
Most technical writing carries a quiet assumption: that you already know roughly what is going on and only need the details filled in. That leaves out almost everyone. These essays start from nothing. They build one idea at a time, they explain every term they use, and they stop when the idea is whole rather than when a word count is met.
Nothing here is watered down. Being clear and being shallow are different things, and the first one is much harder.
